Cumanda

"As the day progresses, there are places where the jungle seems like it has just gotten a bath in melted brass; an optical illusion appears as flame extending over the mass of vegetation without actually engulfing it. ... Here there are sounds and melodies that Donizetti and Mozart would have liked and sounds which sometimes would have driven them insane. Here there are more flowers than the pagans ever dreamed of on their fields, and fragrances unknown in the dwellings of the gods. ... It is the knowledge and possession of all the beauties and harmonies of nature."
